Ruhee and her team know how to doll up a garment! This is a Community Sew class, which means that we'll be sewing together to prepare for Ruhee, and then she'll help us finish off the Sahaara Variation of these projects in real time. She'll also be sharing instructions to hack the Odessa by adding a ruched overlay, and to improve any bra pattern strap attachment to make it look integrated and purposeful.
There are three adorable variations to choose from. For the Sahaara, she'll show how to add the skirted bottom ruffle and the sweet strap ruffle. For the Odessa, this two-layer garment will have a fitted underlayer (use the techniques from Monica's class to make it supportive!) and a ruched overlayer. For the bra, Ruhee will be using the Ruby bra pattern to demonstrate her strap technique, but you can apply this to your own favorite pattern. This listing is for the Odessa.
These kits come with a few options, just like the projects. You can get one, or you can get many! We're showing a variety of base fabrics and overlays for you to choose from. Our two overlay patterns are dots and flowers, and they are both perfect for spring! We're showing you a variety of ways to put your overlay together with base fabric, and we're offering a cool yellow (Lemon Lover), and warm yellow (Buttercup), and a cool blue (Wedgewood) for contrast. You can also do a matching look. We're showing 3 base color looks, a light warm blue (Sea), a warm pink (Antique Rose) and a simple white.
The Odessa really does need an overlay, so choose a base fabric (Stretch Mesh for light support, Tech Sheen for firmer support) and an overlay fabric. You can mix colors or make it all one color. We'll plan to match your overlay color and your findings. Please let us know if you want it different than this.
We are currently sold out of Rigilene Boning.
If you like a matching undie, we've got just what you need!
