Our Lace Bra Kits take the guesswork out of bra building by putting together everything you'll need to make a beautiful bra using your own pattern. If you need a pattern, we have a great selection on our Patterns Page, both paper and downloadable.

I love the fresh, light blue of this lace as it interplays so nicely with the snow white tulle and embroidery. It's kind of like a song -- lyrical motifs and beautifully balanced colors. Of course, this song is blue -- not a deep, soulful blue but rather a gentle, easy blue. There's a newer blues album called Solid Air, and it seems (from what I can tell) like just the ticket.

Since we're speaking of air, we're presenting this kit with Sky as the accent color. Your fabrics and your elastics will be in Sky, although you can leave us a note and ask for Frost instead. I can see this kit made up as a Bra Tulle kit with white Hex Tulle. It's as fresh as can be! Our Featured Artist Jennie made up her bra with a standard adaptation of her Grace bra pattern, the Natalie. She's a real silk fan, so she used our delicious Sky stretch silk satin for the power bar and the strap. You can connect with Jennie on her @annieandmyras account on Instagram. She also made a Jordy bralette from Emerald Erin and some darling French knickers with the Carley French Knickers from Michelle's Armoire. Isn't it just the cutest set ever!?!?! If you want to make yourself knickers, hop over to our French Knickers listing.

We love this little bralette so much, we had to offering it as an option for you! Choose a Jordy Bralette kit to receive just what is needed to make Emerald Erin's Jordy Bralette, or choose a traditional wired bra kit in any of our fabric bases and add on the components of a Jordy Bralette to make both!

The traditional wired lace bra kit features either Stretch Silk Satin with Sheer Cup Lining or Microduoplex, Super Simplex, Tricot, Sheer Cup Lining or Microlycra as the base fabric. One kit contains everything that you need to make a bra and has enough fabric for 2 with many sizes. To get the second bra with larger sizes, upgrade to the half yard of cup fabric and add a bra finishing kit.

Sewing Notes:
The strength of our microduoplex fabric, which makes it so wonderful for bras, also makes it hard to puncture with needles and pins. This is true with most duoplex fabrics. Use either fine silk pins or Wonder Clips to pin (I find Wonder Clips work best), and a Microtex 80/12 needle with a smooth thread like Superior Threads So Fine or Mettler Metrosene to make it easy to sew. In my testing, the So Fine thread and Microtex 80/12 won the challenge of the nicest stitch on microduoplex, and as long as my presser foot completely covered the seam allowance, I found it just as easy to sew as quilting cotton. I moved the needle to the right to set my seam allowance at 1/4" since my presser foot is a bit wide. I find it works well to saturate the lace with liquid starch and let it dry before laying out your pattern pieces and cutting your fabric. This stiffens the lace until you wash it and the lace has enough body to behave well in the sewing process.
We offer all these pins, clips, needles and thread here on our site.
