Our Lace Bra Kits take the guesswork out of bra building by putting together everything you'll need to make a beautiful bra using your own pattern. If you need a pattern, we have a great selection on our Patterns Page, both paper and downloadable.

When I was a young girl in elementary school I lived in a small town on the Pacific Ocean called Half Moon Bay. It was often foggy, especially in the mornings. There came a time though, when the fog would begin to break up and you could see the blue sky through the misty gray. I was remembering those days when it came time to name this kit. There is a soft, foggy gray with lovely sky blue peeking through. We're offering this kit with our Smoke Stretch Silk Satin and Sky accents, which is both subtle and elegant. It has personality without being loud. You can also get the kit with any of our other base fabrics, and we'll dye all the fabrics up to Smoke. If you'd like to keep the elastics Smoke for a more monochromatic look, just leave us a note and we'll take care of that for you.

Our Featured Artist Nikki made this lovely set with the Marlboro bra pattern from Orange Lingerie and the Ella Panty from Lingerie Me Made. Don't you love the interplay between the lace and the silk? The colors on this set are hard to depict, so I have a flat lay picture from Nikki that show the way the gray and the blue work together. On most of the pictures I've had to make the gray too cool in order to see that the elastics are blue. This picture shows the colors beautifully (at least on my phone ;)).

This bra kit features either Stretch Silk Satin, Microduoplex, Sheer Cup Lining, Super Simplex, Microlycra or Tricot as the base fabric. One kit contains everything that you need to make a bra and has enough fabric for 2 with many sizes if you pick up an extra bra finishing kit. To get the second bra with larger sizes, upgrade to the half yard of cup fabric and add a bra finishing kit.

Sewing Notes:

The strength of our microduoplex fabric, which makes it so wonderful for bras, also makes it hard to puncture with needles and pins. This is true with most duoplex fabrics. Use either fine silk pins or Wonder Clips to pin (I find Wonder Clips work best), and a Microtex 80/12 needle with a smooth thread like Superior Threads So Fine or Mettler Metrosene to make it easy to sew. In my testing, the So Fine thread and Microtex 80/12 won the challenge of the nicest stitch on microduoplex, and as long as my presser foot completely covered the seam allowance, I found it just as easy to sew as quilting cotton. I moved the needle to the right to set my seam allowance at 1/4" since my presser foot is a bit wide.
We offer all these pins, clips, needles and thread here on our site.
