Our Bra Builder Combo Kits take the guesswork out of bra building by putting together everything you'll need to make a beautiful bra using your own pattern. If you need a pattern, we have a great selection on our Patterns Page, both paper and downloadable.

I'm guessing that you haven't seen lace like this before! It's a stretch lace, and it has teal-colored lagoons swimming in a silver field, all on a background of rich chocolate brown. We're pairing it with Espresso, and adding a little hint of Glacier to pick up the blue. Liz of Liz Sews made up the gorgeous bra pictured here for us using Emerald Erin's Black Beauty Bra pattern. You can also pair it with our Gilded stretch velvet, which is available as a bra kit or as flat yardage to have a glisten-y set of mix and match that you can pair up several different ways. You'll feel like a queen with the luxury of this gorgeous grouping!

We are also offering a Lace Panty Kit to complete your "Lagoon" set. If you prefer panties in Stretch Mesh or Microlycra  they would be lovely as well. You can find our Stretch Mesh Panty Kit here and our Microlycra Panty Kit here.  Choose our standard color Espresso or our new seasonal color Glacier for a perfect match.

You can choose your fabrics to get your perfect look and fit. For cups, you may choose Microduoplex, which is the gold standard for a supportive bra. The microduoplex is buttery soft, never ravels or frays, is almost indestructible and lets clothing glide right over it. It has a satin side and a matte side, and you can use either side as the right side. If you've used other duoplex for your bra building, you'll be delighted with the Microduoplex. It has all the lovely features of the polyester Duoplex available elsewhere, but has a lovely hand and conforms to your shape even better. Super Simplex is also an excellent choice for your cups. Substantial, easy to sew with a lovely hand feel, you can't go wrong with Super Simplex. You can also specify Tricot for your cups. Line Tricot cups with the same Tricot fabric but orient the stretch in opposite directions. Finally you can go for a more transparent look with a Sheer Cup Lining base fabric. You can also choose regular, firm or stabilized firm power net for your band, the size of your hook and eye and the type of straps that you want. Use our regular weight power net for 75% stretch, great comfort, and very good support. Use our firm weight power net  for the strongest support with 50% stretch. This is the power net that Bravo Bella carried for much of 2017 and 2018 except that it isn't stiff, it's soft. The price of the kit will change based upon the base fabric that you specify.

  • A fat quarter of Microduoplex, Sheer Cup Lining, Super Simplex or Tricot in Espresso
  • 28" x 14" of Powernet (specify regular or firm weight) in Espresso

    • 1 1/2 yards of 3/8" scalloped band elastic in Espresso
    • 1 1/4 yards of 5/8" scalloped band elastic in Espresso

  • 1 yard of plush channeling
  • Twill tape for seam stabilization

    • 6" plus interfacing for self straps (no rings and slides)
    • 1 1/2 yards plus rings and slides for elastic straps

    Sewing Notes:

The strength of our microduoplex fabric, which makes it so wonderful for bras, also makes it hard to puncture with needles and pins. This is true with most duoplex fabrics. Use either fine silk pins or Wonder Clips to pin (I find Wonder Clips work best), and a Microtex 80/12 needle with a smooth thread like Superior Threads So Fine or Mettler Metrosene to make it easy to sew. In my testing, the So Fine thread and Microtex 80/12 won the challenge of the nicest stitch on microduoplex, and as long as my presser foot completely covered the seam allowance, I found it just as easy to sew as quilting cotton. I moved the needle to the right to set my seam allowance at 1/4" since my presser foot is a bit wide.

We offer all these pins, clips, needles and thread here on our site.
