Our Lace Bra Kits take the guesswork out of bra building by putting together everything you'll need to make a beautiful bra using your own pattern. If you need a pattern, we have a great selection on our Patterns Page, both paper and downloadable.
We are temporarily out of Frosted Petals silk, if you order the silk, you will receive Smoke.
If you've ever read (or watched) the Lord of the Rings, you know the ethereal, magical, misty vibe that the Elves invoke. They invented poetry and music, and are at home in the misty woods. This kit reflects all this elvish magic with its luminous leaves over the subtle rosy hue of the base. While there are a number of different color combinations that work beautifully here, my favorite is the one that is shown here -- our Frosted Petals Stretch Silk Satin with Rosewood findings. This lace also looks amazing with our Smoke Stretch Silk Satin for a more tone-on-tone look, but you do lose just a little bit of the magic. Finally, we discovered that Bark is beautiful with this lace! By default, all non-silk options be in all Bark or all Rosewood and the silk options will be Frosted Petals with Rosewood. Just leave us a note if you want something different than this. Finally, we have a beautiful bronze leaf bra charm to go with this kit while supplies last. Please let us know if you do not want the charm.
Our Featured Artist Alice brought this kit to life with 3 pieces. First, she made the lovely Blossom bra from Daydream Patterns for herself. This is a hard lace to photograph well, but you can see how pretty the overall look is. She also used her leftovers to make a Jordy bralette (from Emerald Erin) and Marie Panties (from Evie La Luve) for her teen. Oh so cute!! We thought this was too great of an idea to pass up, so we are offering you the option to add on a Jordy Bralette Kit to your Traditional Wired Elvyn Bra Kit. Your Jordy will include the same colors as your Traditional Wired Elvyn Lace Bra Kit unless you'd like something different (let us know in the comment).

Sewing Notes:
The strength of our microduoplex fabric, which makes it so wonderful for bras, also makes it hard to puncture with needles and pins. This is true with most duoplex fabrics. Use either fine silk pins or Wonder Clips to pin (I find Wonder Clips work best), and a Microtex 80/12 needle with a smooth thread like Superior Threads So Fine or Mettler Metrosene to make it easy to sew. In my testing, the So Fine thread and Microtex 80/12 won the challenge of the nicest stitch on microduoplex, and as long as my presser foot completely covered the seam allowance, I found it just as easy to sew as quilting cotton. I moved the needle to the right to set my seam allowance at 1/4" since my presser foot is a bit wide. I find it works well to saturate the lace with liquid starch and let it dry before laying out your pattern pieces and cutting your fabric. This stiffens the lace until you wash it and the lace has enough body to behave well in the sewing process.
We offer all these pins, clips, needles and thread here on our site.
