Truly Taupe Willowdale Bra Kit

Those who've been garment sewing know the name Cashmerette! Specializing in sewing for curves, Cashmerette has now expanded their sewing line of patterns to include a wider ranges of sizes and most recently, LINGERIE! We are offering kits for their newest pattern, the Willowdale, and we couldn't be more excited! 

Sometimes you want your lingerie to have pizzazz! Sometimes you want it to be a subtle accent that lets you or your clothing have the pizzazz. Our new Neutral Collection is an assembly of kits that have all the loveliness that comes with exquisite laces and custom-mixed colors, but with an understated elegance. This gorgeous kit features a true Taupe as the base color, and we accent it with this stunning stretch lace. The lace is full of movement and elegance, with areas of shine and areas of intricate pattern. The lace is quite flat and is 9" wide, it has good stretch and recovery. This bra kit features our Super Simplex with Sheer Cup Lining or Tricot lining, our 50 denier Tricot self-lined or with Sheer Cup Lining or our luxe Stretch Silk Satin in Taupe with Sheer Cup Lining. 

You might want a matching pair of panties to go with your Truly Taupe bra, so we've created the option to add on a panty kit! The standard smaller panty kit contains your choice of matching lace yardage, a fat 3/8 of your choice of Microlycra, Microlycra Air or Stretch Mesh fabric, along with 2 1/2 yards of foldover elastic for the waist and leg openings, and a 9" square of cotton jersey. The standard larger kit contains your choice of matching lace yardage, 3/4 yard of your choice fabric, 5 yards of foldover elastic and a 9" square of cotton jersey. You can choose your waistband and leg elastic, if you'd prefer something different. You can also double your elastics if you would like more elastic to work with. If you'd like stretch lace for your waist and/or leg openings, or if you'd prefer strap elastic, just leave us a note in the comments! We love to customize your kit to make sure you smile when you open up your kit!

The Willowdale bra pattern is sized from a 28C to a 54J, so there are lots of size options! We've created 2 kit sizes, a Smaller and a Larger. The Smaller works for up to about a size 14 wire, and the larger goes up to the size 54J. The pattern has options which vary based upon a number of different factors including bra band size (for hook and eye), the band/cup intersection (for lower band size) and wire size (for strap). If you're new to bra sewing this might be a bit tricky, so we're offering a couple of helpful things. If you provide your under bust and full bust measurements we'll take our best guess at what you need. If you know what you need, you can just order it exactly like you need it. We're even offering an option for us to include both options if you're near the cutoffs and you want to make sure that you have the correct materials.

For your reference, the bra in blue on the Super Simplex listing is a 40G and is the largest size for the Smaller kit. It uses a 4 hook and eye, a 5/8" lower band elastic and a 3/4" strap.

We are offering 3 base fabrics for this kit. The first is our luxe Stretch Silk Satin, available in Taupe. A dream to sew, and clothing glides right over it. We've paired our Stretch Silk Satin with Sheer Cup Lining. Next is for our Super Simplex, which is a delightful fabric. I find that the Super Simplex is a bit more substantial than many options out there, so this is my preference for the Willowdale. It's easy to sew and has a lovely hand feeling. With the Super Simplex, you will need to add a lining fabric, and we're offering Sheer Cup Lining or Tricot. Sheer Cup (standard) lining has a lovely sewability and a bit more support while Tricot lining (add on) offers more ease and a smooth inner feel. Our third option is our lovely 50 denier Tricot- less translucent but not heavier than lower denier tricots out there. Since our tricot is 104" wide, the standard tricot kit will allow you to self-line your Willowdale. This provides a nice, smooth inner surface and more ease in fit. Or we're offering the option to add on Sheer Cup Lining to line your Tricot Willowdale. This option offers a bit more support if you prefer.

There are also 2 options for lace on this kit. The simple version of the bra is with a lace upper cup, which is the standard offering. You can also upgrade to a full lace bra, which will give you lace to cover the entire bra. You'll need a minimum of 6" in width for the lace upper cup, and at least a minimum of 8" in width for the full lace bra.

The pattern calls for regular power net, but we know some of our bra builders prefer a firmer stretch, so we are offering that as an option for you.
