Our Lace Bra Kits take the guesswork out of bra building by putting together everything you'll need to make a beautiful bra using your own pattern. If you need a pattern, we have a great selection on our Patterns Page, both paper and downloadable.
We've always done some version of black and orange for our October Kit of the Month, so we wanted to change it up a bit this year. This gorgeous tulle lace is a warm creamy light yellow with a hint of chocolate brown. It looks just like cocoa butter and chocolate, which is what we chose as the name inspiration. We have about six of these kits left after filling all the kit of the month orders, so we added a second kit of the month, Midnight Bloom.
I love a neutral kit that isn't boring. This kit lets you play with these yummy colors in whatever way you choose. We created a warm creamy neutral called Cocoa Butter that works well with the background and motif of this lace. This is a great neutral choice for a for a paler complexion and a beautiful accent color for a deeper complexion. You can also choose the deep chocolate tones of Espresso as a great neutral for a deeper complexion and a beautiful accent color for a paler complexion. Either way you go, it's beautiful. You can even mix and match with a pale cup and deep elastics or flip it around. The default for this kit is all Cocoa Butter
We found a print that we love with this lace just in case you want to do a bit of a capsule. We love the creamy tones of our Chrysanthemum print, and the bees are so very cute! I like this best with the Cocoa Butter version of the kit. You can pop on over to the listing for any of our bra, bralette or undie kits to pick some up to make yourself a gorgeous fall inspired set.
This beautiful kit was brought to life by our Featured Artist Liz H. She modified the Labellum pattern from Lilypad Designs and added her own self-drafted band for the bra and did a riff on the Marie Panties from Evie la luve for the undies. Isn't it darling?

The strength of our microduoplex fabric, which makes it so wonderful for bras, also makes it hard to puncture with needles and pins. This is true with most duoplex fabrics. Use either fine silk pins or Wonder Clips to pin (I find Wonder Clips work best), and a Microtex 80/12 needle with a smooth thread like Superior Threads So Fine or Mettler Metrosene to make it easy to sew. In my testing, the So Fine thread and Microtex 80/12 won the challenge of the nicest stitch on microduoplex, and as long as my presser foot completely covered the seam allowance, I found it just as easy to sew as quilting cotton. I moved the needle to the right to set my seam allowance at 1/4" since my presser foot is a bit wide. I find it works well to saturate the lace with liquid starch and let it dry before laying out your pattern pieces and cutting your fabric. This stiffens the lace until you wash it and the lace has enough body to behave well in the sewing process.
We offer all these pins, clips, needles and thread here on our site.
