It's time to sew along with Sue! Sue, who is in her 60s, is comfortably past menopause and dealing with all the interesting changes that come along with that. She has a favorite everyday undie for pants and a different one for dresses. Neither of them has elastic per say, and there is no binding or muffin topping! For her pants undie, she's making a bamboo brief which gives her excellent fabric utilization and are fast and easy to make. For her dress undie she's making slip shorts, which allows summertime to be spent in casual dresses no matter the activity. It's easy and breezy! Sue uses the Apostrophe undie pattern generator for the briefs and the Jalie 2572 Shapewear short, and how to adapt it to be a regular slip short. She'll also show you how to add a bit of absorbency to the crotch. Even if you're in your 20s, you can still adapt many of the techniques in the class to your own undies.
We've sourced all sorts of wonderful fabrics, colors and laces for the Bee, and this is your opportunity to make some matching sets. We are offering our undie kits in 2 sizes, Larger and Smaller. Typically, our Smaller kit works easily for women up to a size Large, and the Larger kit can do any size. Many gals who are smaller in size purchase our Larger kits and get multiple pairs of undies to go with their bra. I wear a size XL and I can get 3 pairs of briefs from a Larger kit. Women who are a smaller size can often get 2-3 pairs of undies from a Smaller, depending on style. Some undies are very tiny! You can also upgrade to include matching thread, additional elastics, an absorbent crotch or extra cotton jersey (useful for making more pairs of undies). The fabric utilization for the slip shorts is different than for the briefs, so the smaller cut will work for larger sizes.
